The LIFE Adaptablues project has vegetated estuary ecosystems (EVE) to reduce the impact of climate change on coastal areas.

However, European estuaries are threatened by factors of human origin.

As a consequence, the extension of estuary ecosystems has decreased, almost two thirds of ecosystems have been lost since the beginning of the 20th century.
